# Testing Tasks

## Task 7 - Collect the 3D Printing Zero to Hero Test Kit

* [x] Access the  testing kit, located in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Teaching Labs (Room 157).

:man\_mage: **Important:**  The kit consists of:

* A 3D printed test handle,
* A single M6 bolt and nut.
* A single $$8;\text{kg}$$ test weight (kettlebell) with a length of chain tied around it for attaching to your hook.

To ensure that anyone wishing to use one has free access, please only take a testing kit when you are ready to test/demonstrate your printed hook and return it once finished. Please also ensure that the bolt and nut are secured in the handle when returning the kit.

## Task 8 - Test Your Hook

* [x] Insert your hook into the base of the handle and fasten it with the provided M6 bolt and nut.&#x20;
* [x] Carefully suspend the $$8;\text{kg}$$ test weight by hanging it on your hook using the provided chain/rope.
  * [x] Note that you can lift as slowly as needed - your hook only needs bear the *static* load.

:zap: **Warning:** *Suspended weights can be dangerous.*&#x20;

1. Ensure your testing area is clear.
2. Do not lift the weight over your own body/feet or anything else that could be damaged in the event of your hook failing.
